The Pillars of Health and Fitness
Working yourself out with the philosophy of balance is the best way to maximize your genetic potential while holding any deficiencies at bay. It is the foundation of being stronger, having more energy, and having more freedom and awareness in your body. Keeping yourself in balance comes down to four pillars.
Pillar I – Mentally, emotionally spiritually. If you are mentally in a good place, feel positive and hopeful, have a purpose as to why you are here, feel connected to the whole and have acceptance for where you are today, you are in a good place.
Pillar II – Nutrition & Water. If you are eating foods that work well for your body, not overeating, and making sure that your body, which is approximately 70% water, stays hydrated, you are in the right place.
Pillar III – You not only need to be getting your 6-8 hours of sleep at night but have down and playtime and are not revving your engines all the time. If you do that you are in the right place
Pillar IV – Proper movement. At a base level, you need to move enough throughout the day as this is what our body was designed for, not 9- 5 desk jobs or sedentary lifestyles. But the proper movement for your body is moving your body in a beneficial way and without compensation to the whole. If you are moving enough throughout the day without pain or compromised motions, you are in the right place.
Go through these next lessons and the four pillars and take stock on where you are. The first three will be up to you. It would be a mistake to skip these lessons. You’ll get a ton of exercises and stretches that you can use, but they will be MUCH more effective with you working on the other three pillars as well.
