The goal of segmental strengthening is to solicit all the different fibers of your muscles while respecting how they are connected throughout the body.
Proper and total solicitation includes building muscle where the was none, waking up muscle fibers that had been “asleep,” and increasing the neuromuscular connection.
The trick is knowing the biomechanics of the body (how everything moves) so that you can put yourself in the proper position to target the areas you need to improve, and then to do enough reps so that you create a need in your body and it has to adapt.
Parameters:
- Work up to 50 to 100 reps per set for each of these exercises
- This can and should be done progressively.
- These are to be done BEFORE any Myofascial stretching and ELDOA’s and after a good warm-up.
