ELDOA is a French acronym the roughly translates into a longitudinal osteoarticular de-coaptation. And to translate that, they are exercises that will give the joints in your body space.
Using the same bio-tensegrity philosophy as the rest of our program where everything is linked and needs to be balanced, you can solicit specific areas of your body if you put the proper chain in tension. But with an ELDOA, you need to know how to put the chain in tension to pull the upper part away from the lower part to cause the opening.
Doing this under the proper amount of tension will open AND strengthen the joint that you are targeting if you have specific areas that you want to work on its a good idea to work directly on the location and then above and below it.
Parameters:
- Once in full position, each posture will be held 1 X for 1 min
- Work with the factors of progression to get in practice and learn the stretch properly. Look for the directions in each stretch as to the factors. Work on each one individually on each stretch and then start to combine them, leading up to the full stretch.
- Do on its own but never before strenuous activity.
- An excellent time to do them is before bed.
