Improve Joint health with ELDOA.
ELDOAs are the ultimate spine and joint exercises. These stretch exercises are a series of de-coaptation (space-giving) longitudinal stretching exercises that can target any joint in your body. ELDOAs will bring your joints back to normal, giving you more mobility, strength, posture, and body awareness.

What should you do when experiencing back and joint pain? Should you simply grin and bear it, or rely on pain medications?
Are you constantly visiting practitioners to “fix” you?
What if there was a way to take charge of your own health?
Do you have just a few minutes each day?
Solcore Fitness & Therapy in Santa Fe, NM offers personal training, group exercise classes, and online personal training programs that incorporate ELDOA and osteopathic exercises and treatments to help eliminate back and joint pain.
ELDOA exercises are an excellent solution for improving spinal and joint health, enhancing posture, balance, mobility, and strength, while decreasing and eliminating pain and increasing body awareness through targeted stretching exercises specifically designed to address back and joint pain and dysfunction.
Our lifestyles and increased longevity can negatively impact our joints. If you’re not actively supporting your joint health, it’s only a matter of time before you begin to experience symptoms like immobility, weakness, and pain. Therefore, prioritizing joint care is essential; neglecting this aspect can lead to worsening issues. Taking proactive steps to improve your joint health can greatly enhance your mobility and comfort in daily activities. Ultimately, investing in your joint health now will yield long-term benefits.
No one is exempt from these challenges!
By regularly performing ELDOAs, you can counteract these effects and help keep your joints healthy, strong, mobile, and functional.
How does the ELDOA method work? First, while performing ELDOA, a specific posture is assumed to de-coaptate the desired joint. This particular posture, in turn, directs self-induced tension to the myofascial chain, thereby influencing that specific joint. Furthermore, maintaining the posture for at least 60 seconds allows both the nervous system (‘driver’) and the body (‘car’) time to become aware and adjust accordingly.
Over time and with repetition, the body moves towards a position of postural normalization and eases tensions. Regardless of a person’s starting point, these stretching exercises have progression factors, making the ELDOAs user-friendly and highly effective.
The key to ELDOA’s success lies with the conscious integration of the body and nervous system. For the nervous system to reset the body’s habitual postural positioning, you must be consciously present (aware) during each ELDOA exercise. In essence, you are using these stretching exercises to retrain the nervous system to adopt the new posture.
ELDOA can target the joints and spaces in your body. The 33 vertebral segments of the spine. The 10 joints in your shoulder girdle. And the 13 joints in your hips and pelvis.
The primary scientific laws that are used with this exercise technique are:
ELDOA is a French acronym that stands for (ETIREMENTS LONGITUDINAUX AVEC DECOAPTION OSTEO-ARTICULAIRE) and was developed in the 1970s by world-renown french Osteopath and Orthopedic MD, Guy Voyer. ELDOA is the result of over thirty years of research and successful application in thousands of cases. SolCore Fitness Personal Training Santa Fe was one of the first facilities to use the ELDOA method and has had years of educational and practical experience using ELDOA stretching exercises for back pain and getting amazing results.
Since structure dictates function, you can enhance your overall performance and health by incorporating ELDOA’s along with myofascial stretching, segmental muscle strengthening, proprioception & awareness exercises, cardiovascular and respiratory exercises, global strengthening primal movement exercises, global postural stretching, and adopting a healthy holistic lifestyle. Whether you are a professional athlete, a stay-at-home parent, a working professional, or in any other role, you will notice improvements in your quality of life when you achieve balance in your body.
Some common ways the people work with their spine and joints are to:
Your body is complex, interconnected, and interdependent. To be properly educated, it needs explicit instructions on what to do. Relying on a posture brace as an external aid to correct your posture can ultimately weaken your body, as it prevents your muscles from learning how to support your posture correctly.
While hanging and inversion tables may provide temporary relief, they do not target the specific areas that need attention and they are not exercises so they do not prevent issues from recurring.
Foam rollers and similar gadgets are just that—gadgets. They are not designed to adapt to each individual’s body; instead, they focus on a one-size-fits-all solution, overlooking potential underlying causes, and they do not help your body learn to function better.
Visiting practitioners is a great way to support your spine and joints, but it is essential to incorporate specific exercises, such as ELDOA, alongside treatment to ensure lasting results. Without a holistic exercise program integrated with your treatments, you risk wasting both your time and money.
The best approach to caring for your joints, spine, and overall body is to engage in a holistic program of exercises and treatments that complement each other.
We wrote two great, easy-to-read articles about it below.
