it’s not just working out. It's building a foundation for a better life.
Don’t you just LOVE having something to look forward to?
Sometimes I enjoy the anticipation as much as the actual thing itself!
Here’s a helpful trick I learned to bring more of this fun to my life and to make it more useful in reaching my health goals. I always have a vision of what I want and goals to hit along the way.
This keeps the fire going within me because I feel like there is a purpose in what I am doing and not random acts of doing.
Think about common Big Moments like…
👉🏽 A family reunion
👉🏽 Running your first 5K
👉🏽 A beach vacation
👉🏽 Saving enough money for a down payment on a home or vehicle
The possibilities are endless. And it’s easy to see how to leave “breadcrumb” goals on the path to ultimate success. If you automatically make a deposit into your special saving account, then plan out when you’ll be 25% to your goal, then 50% and so on… and when those days come, pat yourself on the back or give yourself a little treat.
I find this a fun and engaging way to keep me motivated during a long process. It keeps my goals top of my mind, and it reminds me what I can do each day to move the needle.
I’ll be honest I always feel motivated, but if this has been a sticking point with you, this will definitely help.
I know it will work for you, too!
Hit reply and let me know what your goal is!

A great philosopher once said, “𝓣𝓱𝓸𝓼𝓮 𝔀𝓱𝓸 𝓬𝓪𝓷𝓷𝓸𝓽 𝓻𝓮𝓶𝓮𝓶𝓫𝓮𝓻 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓹𝓪𝓼𝓽 𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓶𝓷𝓮𝓭 𝓽𝓸 𝓻𝓮𝓹𝓮𝓪𝓽 𝓲𝓽.”
It’s a good one to remember in our daily lives, my friend. Because without gaining awareness of what throws us off course, we’re likely to get derailed by the same mistake again.
🧐 Maybe it’s a self-limiting belief that broke through your defenses and convinced you to give up.
🧐 Maybe you listened to a negative colleague talk about the pointlessness of even trying.
🧐 Or maybe you went ahead and bought certain items at the grocery store that you find so hard to resist late at night.
Sure, sometimes we’re thrown off track by an unprecedented disruption. But in plenty of cases, it’s something that might have occurred in the past and could likely come up again.
The key, then, is to look back and identify the obstacle –𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐌.
That’s the first step to staying on track as you move forward.
I’d love for you to share what limiting belief you’ve identified and how you’ll choose to rewrite and overcome it!

Here we go! Another year moving at the speed of light. If time didn’t feel fast enough, I have my kids growing like weeds (pretty smart ones) to remind me. My daughter is turning 10 in a few days, and my 6-year-old son is almost up to my chest! I’m 6’4″!
Anyhoo. It got me thinking about how the one consistent thing is time. 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, it’s there. You either are conscious and respectful of it, or you aren’t.
I see this in my studio all the time. I always assign homework to people so that they can get the most out of the program. The goal for me is self-sufficiency. Just coming in and doing what your told is 1/4 of your journey—the practice you put in at home and changes within yourself lead to sustainable success.
So when I see somebody who 6 months ago I gave homework, and they are still not doing it, it makes me a little sad. I can see they are held back by mental and emotional fear.
Don’t get me wrong, I realize that everybody has their path and is not on the same timeline, but there is a difference between that and getting in your own way.
Taking control of your health and fitness is no different from any other skill or achievement you have in your life.
👉🏽 Have a desire “Why” you want it
👉🏽 Understand and give yourself some grace that you are learning something new
👉🏽 Self-reflect on the changes you will have to make to accomplish your goal.
It’s not magic. It’s not enough that you “just get up and move.” It is a choice of what you want in your life.
I love to know what you think about this.
It’s not just working out, it’s building a foundation for a better life.
